LA County Transitional Age Youth Conference

On May 29th about 350 attendees participated in the second Transition Age Youth (TAY) Conference – Promoting Hope, Wellness and Self-sufficiency: One Success at a Time at the California Endowment in downtown Los Angeles. The conference’s key audiences were TAY (between the ages of 16-25 years old) and the agencies and organizations that serve them. BRL Founder and Executive Director, Tomas Alvarez III delivered a keynote speech on the BRL Academy, a pilot program designed to support TAY in life skills and workforce development. We are very excited to report that BRL will be expanding the Academy in the next year to include key partnerships with local health care systems, community colleges and local providers interested in building a pipeline into the mental health professions for young adults of color. More updates coming soon!
