“A Lovely Day” Wins Award At Nashville Film Festival

Last month, “A Lovely Day”–the documentary chronicling BRL’s Rap Therapy program and youth at Oakland High won the Best Hispanic Interest Film Award at the 44th Nashville Film Festival. We are very excited that the film is receiving national praise, shedding light on youth voices from Oakland! Our BRL Academy interns who were featured in the film have been busy with the local screenings of the film, participating in Q&A sessions and radio interviews. To check out their latest interview with Nashville Film Festival Radio, click here. We congratulate Director, Kerri Gawryn and the film crew for this prestigious recognition! If you’ve missed out on seeing the film, please stay tuned to this newsletter and our Facebook page to find out about future screenings.
